Travel Insurance for Your Kosher Sailing Charter
A private catamaran charter takes real time and planning to bring your whole group together. We've partnered to offer Faye travel insurance, so unexpected illness, a delayed flight to the marina, or a medical emergency abroad doesn't have to cost you the trip.
Travel insurance is optional and not required to book a Kosher Sailing charter β we simply recommend it.
The short version: Faye is an award-winning travel insurance and assistance platform, rated 4.8/5 on Trustpilot, available to US residents. It offers three plans β Faye First, Faye Forward and Faye Flagship β covering trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical care and evacuation, baggage, and travel delay, plus 24/7 human support and digital claims you can file and track from your phone. An optional Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) upgrade is also available on top of the standard cancellation cover already included. Exact limits and pricing depend on your trip cost, dates and destination, so the fastest way to see real numbers is to get a personalized quote.
Why It's Worth Insuring a Sailing Charter
A week on a private catamaran is a bigger commitment than a hotel booking β more of your trip cost is paid up front, and more can be affected by things outside anyone's control.
Illness or injury before you fly
If you, a family member or a travel companion gets sick or injured before departure, trip cancellation cover can help recoup the non-refundable cost of your charter.
Weather and flight delays
Storms, mechanical delays or a missed connection on the way to Athens, Split or Tortola can throw off your first day aboard β trip delay and missed-connection cover help with the extra cost.
Medical emergencies at sea or ashore
Greece, Croatia and the British Virgin Islands are beautiful but not always close to major hospitals. Emergency medical and evacuation coverage matters more on a sailing holiday than on a city break.
Baggage delayed en route
Island-hopping often means more connections, not fewer. If your bags don't make it to the boat with you, baggage delay coverage helps cover essentials until they catch up.
Three Plans, Increasing Protection
Faye offers three tiers, so you can match the level of cover to your trip. Full benefit limits, pricing and state availability are confirmed at quote time.
Faye First
Holistic coverage that handles the essentials β trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical and baggage protection β and keeps your trip on track.
Faye Forward
Whole-trip coverage with higher limits and broader protection, including cover for airport shutdowns, carrier mechanical breakdowns and inclement-weather closures that Faye First doesn't reach.
Faye Flagship
Faye's premium plan β the highest limits across medical, evacuation and trip protection, for travelers who want the most complete cover available.
π Want More Flexibility? Add Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)
The standard trip cancellation cover built into all three plans only reimburses you for a specific list of covered reasons (illness, a natural disaster, a supplier going under, and so on). Cancel For Any Reason is a separate, optional add-on on top of that β it lets you cancel for a reason that isn't otherwise covered and still recover a share of your non-refundable trip cost.
CFAR must generally be purchased close to when you first put money down on your trip, and it's available in most, but not all, US states. Ask about CFAR when you get your quote to confirm it's available where you live.
What's Covered for Cancellation & Interruption
All three plans cover a wide range of unexpected events. A few extra reasons are only covered on Faye Forward and Faye Flagship, marked below.
| Covered reason | Faye First | Faye Forward | Faye Flagship |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sickness, injury or death of you, a family member, travel companion or business partner | β | β | β |

Travel Insurance: FAQ
Do I need travel insurance to book a Kosher Sailing charter?
No β it's optional, and it's not required to book with us. We recommend it because a charter is a larger, more up-front trip cost than most bookings, and because our destinations aren't always close to major medical care.
What does trip cancellation cover?
If a covered reason β such as sudden illness, a family emergency, or your home becoming uninhabitable β forces you to cancel before departure, trip cancellation cover can reimburse your non-refundable, pre-paid trip costs.
What if something happens once we're already on board?
That's trip interruption cover β it applies to covered events that cut a trip short or force changes once you've already left. Faye Forward and Faye Flagship reimburse up to 150% of your non-refundable trip costs to help with the extra expense of getting home or continuing your trip.
Is emergency medical care abroad included?
Yes β all three plans include emergency medical expense and emergency medical evacuation coverage, with higher limits on Faye Forward and Faye Flagship. Faye also gives you access to telemedicine doctors while you're away.
Can I get coverage if I have a pre-existing medical condition?
Pre-existing medical condition coverage is available on all three plans, subject to Faye's eligibility requirements and timing rules. Confirm the details for your situation when you get your quote.
What's the difference between standard cancellation cover and Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)?
Standard trip cancellation, included in all three plans, only pays out for a defined list of covered reasons. CFAR is an optional add-on over and above that β it lets you cancel for a reason not on that list and still recover a share of your non-refundable trip cost. It's available in most, but not all, US states, and usually needs to be purchased soon after your first trip payment, so ask about it early.
Who is eligible for these Faye plans?
The plans on this page are available to US residents. If you're not a US resident, ask us and we'll help you find a suitable alternative.
How do I actually get a quote or file a claim?
Use the "Get Your Faye Quote" button on this page β it takes you straight to Faye's quote tool with your trip details. If you already have a Faye policy, claims are filed and tracked in the Faye app, or you can reach a Faye representative directly at support@withfaye.com.

About this page: Kosher Sailing is not a licensed insurance agent and does not sell, underwrite or administer travel insurance. We're happy to point you to Faye as a trip-protection option we like, but the plans described above are offered by Faye β the brand name for travel protection plans from Zenner, Inc. and its subsidiaries, including insurance coverage underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company. These plans are available to US residents only. The optional Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) upgrade is available in most, but not all, US states, and is separate from β and in addition to β the standard trip cancellation cover already included in every plan. Coverage, terms, benefit limits, pricing and state availability vary and are confirmed by Faye at the time of quote. This page is a general summary only, not a substitute for the full plan documents β please review those, and Faye's terms, conditions and exclusions, before purchasing. For plan questions, contact Faye directly at support@withfaye.com.
