Diving the Aeolian Islands: Volcanic Reefs and Marine Life
Each of the Aeolian Islands began as a volcanic cone, and that cone doesn’t stop at the waterline — it continues underwater, dropping 1,000 metres or more to the seabed. For divers joining our kosher sailing trips in Sicily, this creates some of the most dramatic scuba diving in the Mediterranean, with the geology and marine life changing at every depth.
Explore underwater caves and look out for grouper, bream, turbot, forkbeard, barracuda, octopus, and moray eels, all set against a striking contrast of pale volcanic pumice and black lava rock.
Whether you’re a first-time diver or a certified Open Water diver, our kosher sailing crew will organize diving across the Aeolian Islands — Stromboli, Vulcano, Lipari, Salina, and Panarea — tailored to your experience level and the day’s conditions.
